About Us
FACE Nepal is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established by local community representatives and supported by prior Nepal community volunteers. FACE Nepal was established in the wake of increasing social, educational, and environmental problems in the rural and urban areas, combined with a growing community frustration with inadequate resource distribution, project coordination and planning from existing aid organizations.
With these concerns in mind, FACE Nepal has established itself as the only independent, Nepali run, aid organization with a transparent operating and cost structure, an international auditing board and a locally collaborative and inclusive strategic planning framework.
ORGANISATION OBJECTIVES

THE ORGANISATION STRUCTURE
Face Nepal is run locally by a volunteer committee of Nepali citizens. This Volunteer Advisory Board consists of 7 men and women of various castes with current involvement in public schooling, community education, environmental conservation, health, social work and media.
The Volunteer Advisory Board establishes community development plans and approves projects, using the feedback of the volunteers and the local community network.
The committee is overseen by a volunteer, International Board of Directors who provides an additional source of knowledge and scrutiny to the activities of FACE Nepal . This Board of Directors also makes itself available to receive direct feedback from the community and FACE Nepal contributors.
Communities needs and nessicities are carried by out co-ordinators, common members, Board members and people of the community directly. Advisory Board will have discuss on the proopsal and selects some of them according to its importance. The Advisory Board sends to every members of Board of Director, to recommend. Then most recommended project will be launched in community. All the members are informed about the project in three stages; When we will have an agreement letter with the user comittee which is formed before the starting project. While project will be started then final at the end of the project.
Face members of the community refers to the children with all the information to be sponsered to the advisory board and board will select according to their information and informs to the board of directors.
The structure of FACE Nepal comprises a International Board of Directors, that provide strategic governance and auditing, an Advisory Group, which provides local management and decision-making guidance, a Managing Director, who coordinates all daily operations and a Local Network, which overviews the community efforts.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The committee is overseen by a volunteer, International Board of Directors who provides an additional source of knowledge and scrutiny to the activities of FACE Nepal . This Board of Directors also makes itself available to receive direct feedback from community and FACE Nepal contributors via either a web page or email.
The BOD is responsible for approving strategic plans, community diagnostics and project funding. The BOD also holds authority over the appointments for MD and AB members but predominately works of the recommendations of the local people unless further scrutiny is deemed necessary.
The BOD has a bi-annual meeting held over international communication lines to approve funds. All other communications are ad hoc at the request of a BOD member or the MD. The BOD may also make themselves available to talking to volunteers and answering any specific queries directed to them by potential contributing bodies to FACE Nepal .
ADVISORY GROUP
Face Nepal is run locally by a volunteer committee comprising Nepali citizens. The volunteer Advisory Board consists 7 men and women of various castes with current involvement in the areas of public schooling, community education, environmental conservation, health, social work and media.
This committee meets every two months to approve projects, establish community development plans, assess the feedback of volunteers and the local network, and support the operations of the MD.
LOCAL NETWORK- COMMUNITY REPRESENTIVES
The Advisory Board undertakes incremental diagnostics to identify key communities and prioritize the efforts of FACE Nepal . Upon the identification of an area of address a Community Representative in that area will be selected based on their reputable and honest standing in the community. They will be invited to support FACE Nepal in its efforts within their community. This role will be voluntary and will involve reporting on the success of FACE projects, supporting any child sponsorships, assisting local volunteers and providing any other minor assistance as required by FACE Nepal to add value to the community.
OTHER SUPPORT POSITIONS
FACE Nepal has made the following formal appointments:
Lawyer - A reputable local lawyer with connections to community development has been appointed to overview all legal aspects of FACE Nepal .
Accountant - An independent accountant has been appointed to the treasury position to compile and audit all financial practices. Long-term an internationally reputable firm will be sought on a voluntary basis to provide auditing and potentially diagnostic support.
In the future, FACE Nepal may extend their structure to include the following paid positions which will work directly for the MD:
- Regional or Area Coordinators - to overview the daily operations of regional areas or organizational portfolios, including child sponsorships.-Project Planners - to overview select development projects on a case-by-case basis.-Administration Support - to enhance the local English and administrative capability of FACE Nepal .
Other aspects of the organizational structure that aid our quest for transparency and integrity include:
- The Managing Director is reappointed every two years by a community recommendation to the advisory board. The final recommendation and feedback is then approved by the BOD
- Volunteers and the Advisory Group will be given a direct line of communication to the BOD should they have any issues they wish to raise.
- The Managing Director has limited authority in regards to the selection of funds distribution. Their role is primarily to oversee the implementation of the organizational strategy and support the volunteering projects and programs. The Advisory Group will present bi-annual recommendations for final approval to the BOD for any major project investments.
- The Advisory Group and the BOD will comprise of mixed psychographic and demographic profiles to ensure representation from all areas is present in strategic decision making.
- All Advisory Group and the BOD will be voluntary only so there is no financial agenda achieved in their participation.
- There is a "no-nepotism" rule with FACE Nepal and all appointments are made on merit.
